Judith Paridaen

The research group led by Judith Paridaen investigates how individual stem cells in the developing, adult and ageing vertebrate brain determine their division outcomes. We investigate how specific properties of neural stem cells, such as gene expression profile, responsiveness to signals, and cell biological features such as fate-determinants affects their division mode and daughter cell specification. We use vertebrate model organisms (zebrafish, mouse) to study neural stem cells in vivo using state-of-the-art single-cell analyses, time-lapse imaging and genetic manipulations.
